Use this as is or cut into ¼ - 1 inch ribbons to use in your rug hooking. This fabric is best cut using a ruler and rotary cutter on the “non-fuzzy” side. You can use very sharp scissors as well.

I am a rug hooking artist who incorporates various fibers into my own work and I encourage others to do the same to achieve rich and interesting textures in their designs (see last photos for example). This wool will look absolutely lovely in your punch needle (#10 needle) or rug hooking projects. This fabric has a slight stretch but hooks up easily when cut to ½ inch ribbons.

Tips From the Manufacturer: The dyes for these fabrics are heat set. The dyed fabric especially velvet is not guaranteed to be colorfast and reds and deep violets are especially prone to slight bleeding, as is found with red wools. Spot clean or hand wash separately in cold water. Be careful pressing the velvet and taffeta as it can burn; use a pressing cloth on wrong side and start with medium heat, avoid or minimize steam.

Use medium heat when ironing to avoid melting. The velvet has a different look depending on the direction of the nap (more shiny and matte on each side).
